Graduates and Alumni
Sara was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the neplab from March 2016 to August 2018. She received her Ph.D degree from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in collaboration with Institute of High Performance Computing (IHPC) in 2015. Sara has received a number of honors and awards, including the Best Poster Award at ICMAT 2013. She is now an Assistant Research Professor at Mississippi State University.
Zach joined the NEPlab in the Spring of 2015, while completing his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at UTSA. He graduated with his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from UTSA in 2017, after successfully defending his thesis titled Full-Field Experimental Analysis of Ductile and Fatigue Fracture and the Accompanying Thermal Effects." Zach is now a mechanical engineer at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL).
Tyler joined the NEPlab in the Summer of 2016. He graduated with M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from UTSA in 2018, after successfully defending his thesis titled "Processing and characterization of carbon nanotube enhanced energetic materials." After leaving the NEPlab, Tyler worked on advanced space solar arrays at Kirtland Air Force Base.
Mashroor is from Dhaka, Bangladesh where he obtained B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. In 2018, he obtained his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from UTSA, after defending his project titled "Solid Solution Weakening in Nucleation Dominated Failure." Mashroor is now pursuing a PhD at Mississippi State University.
Kyle Fernandez joined the NEPlab in Spring 2017. In 2018, he graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from UTSA. Kyle is now an engineer at Southwest Research Institute.
Matthew worked in the NEPlab as a high school student intern in 2016-2017. He conducted research on cavitation rheology in soft matter. Matthew is now pursuing a B.S. in engineering at Rice University.
